Technical Integrity and Assurance Management Services
A primary requirement for assessing vendor competence is that the vendor’s infrastructure, systems, processes and capabilities meet specified physical attribute parameters.
Pre Production Inspection
Our Pre-Production Inspection (PPI) service is designed to assess our clients’ prospective vendors or manufacturers’ facilities before they give formal authorization to vendors or outsourced-manufacturers to begin production of their products.
First Article Inspection
Our First Article Inspection (FAI), the Initial Quality Control for outsourced local manufacturing or offshore procurement allows our clients to keep a close eye on the first set of mass produced products. Typically, about 1% to 10% of the total produced quantity for an order batch is sampled at the factory.

Technical Integrity and Assurance Management Services
A primary requirement for assessing vendor competence is that the vendor’s infrastructure, systems, processes and capabilities meet specified physical attribute parameters. Our technical audit and inspection services provide this assurance to stakeholders including financiers, buyers, manufacturers and end-users that the non-conformities within the supply value chain can be detected before, during and after production.
We use a combination of transparent tools, time-tested methodologies and experienced resource persons to achieve inspection and audit evaluation goals, usually within one or two man-days, depending on the complexity of the product, processes and acceptance limit sampling plan.

Pre Production Inspection
Our Pre-Production Inspection (PPI) service is designed to assess our clients’ prospective vendors or manufacturers’ facilities before they give formal authorization to vendors or outsourced-manufacturers to begin production of their products. Depending on the nature of the products and manufacturing risk rating, a desktop review of the vendors operating facility and processes maybe carried out prior to the onsite Pre-Production Inspection.
The goal of our Pre Production Inspection either locally or internationally is to make sure that our customers’ requirements and the specifications are understood and appropriately documented prior to production sign-off.
Scope of Pre Production Inspection
We sample input raw materials, including production and packaging raw materials, and any other key components required to fulfill clients’ requirements. We also evaluate the contractual relationships between the vendor/manufacturer and the impact these may have on the vendor’s available operating capacity. Other considerations include: production schedules, maintenance plans, samples of manufactured products, in-house quality control records and the competencies of key personnel.
The Leitung Gate Advantage
Our team works closely with clients to guide the personalization of the Inspection Plan to cover any idiosyncrasies of the vendor/manufacturer’s operating context – location, technological and regulatory environments.
This enables our clients make realistic projections on production schedule, costs and possible challenges associated with working with a vendor. Ultimately, our clients’ legal teams are better informed in providing contractual covenants that accommodate such risks and protect the clients legally.
Protracted clarification requests resulting from communication gap between both parties are eliminated with through our PPI service.
Our PPI service ultimately saves all parties time, costs and starts business relationships on the right footing!
TYPICAL PPI QUESTIONS
- Is the production line ready to be deployed immediately the order is placed?
- Have all the customer’s requirements and specifications been correctly interpreted and understood?
- Have all elements of the manufacturers quality assurance and control plan been verified OK before large-scale production?
- Are there unresolved corrections and corrective actions that potentially threaten the integrity of the manufacturing and packaging process?

First Article Inspection
Our First Article Inspection (FAI), the Initial Quality Control for outsourced local manufacturing or offshore procurement allows our clients to keep a close eye on the first set of mass produced products. Typically, about 1% to 10% of the total produced quantity for an order batch is sampled at the factory.
Scope of First Article Inspection
During FAIs, we assess the first production samples referencing approved samples, prototype models and/or technical specifications data sheets. Secondary checks include verification of the customer communicated special requirements and the control of production processes, including in-process and finished goods sampling plans and records.
Also included is the verification of the status, quantity of the raw materials and component materials used in producing the “First Article of Produced Items,” usually referencing planned arrangements that may form part of the contractual requirements of the manufacturer.
The Leitung Gate Advantage
With our First Article Inspection, clients are:
- Given enough heads-up to take decisive action when manufacturing processes fail to deliver expected outcomes.
- Provide objective evidence of root causes of product failures.
- Given the opportunity to implement preventive actions and oversee the implementation of corrective action
- Able to detected deviations to schedule and cost milestones early enough for intervention opportunity
TYPICAL FAI QUESTIONS
- What in-process control parameters have been off control limits?
- What raw materials inventory are available and in-transit?
- What Acceptance Quality Limit has been specified for production batches?
- How many finished products failed the inspection test as a percentage of the total number of items produced in the batch of reference
During Production Inspection / Production Monitoring
Our local and offshore (Asia) During Production Inspection (DPI) service is aimed at detecting and eliminating non-conformities during production by sampling between 20% and 80% in-process and finished goods at different manufacturing and packaging stages.
Scope of During Production Inspection
Our DPI service focuses on validating Acceptance Quality Limits (AQL) sampling, using physical and technical properties of the products: quality, size and weight measurements, performance requirements, accessories, aesthetics, packaging, packing and other tests and special requirements
The DPI service also covers the assessment of raw materials inventory and replenishment cycle, unfinished products and production programme for the period under reference.
The Leitung Gate Advantage
An integral feature of our DPI is the real-time feedback collection mechanism that allows clients the opportunity to evaluate the outcomes of production in-process check and verify production volumes in relation to the clients’ approved manufacturing lead-time. Where deviations exist, corrective and schedule optimization actions can be timely initiated to bring the production schedule back on track, while minimizing the total amount of defects.
TYPICAL PPI QUESTIONS
- What in-process control parameters have been off control limits?
- Are production batch schedules being met?
- Have non-conformities been reported and closed out?
- How many finished products failed the inspection test

Pre-Shipment Inspection
We offer Finished Quality Control inspection services, Pre Shipment Inspection (PSI), of finished products that are packaged. Our clients have the option to commission Pre-Shipment Inspection at the manufacturer’s factory or the freight forwarders’ facility.
Scope of Pre-Shipment Inspection
Our Pre-Shipment Inspection covers on-site checks finished packaged products. The assessment includes: product appearance, AQL Sampling, finishing, safety and functionality, quantity, sorting, colors/ measurements/ weight, accessories, labeling & logos, packing & packaging, and any other customer requirements.
The Leitung Gate Advantage
With our Pre-shipment Inspection, clients are assured that there are no surprises when local or offshore vendors and manufacturers deliver ordered products because of the thoroughness of our PSI in detecting non-conformities. This allows our clients sufficient time to seek redress and evaluate their options in the face of defects detected during our PSI.
We provide comprehensive reports on:
- Details of the types of defects, and percent of defective products
- Objective assessment on product quality
- Details on shipping marks, packing and labelling
