The Standards Organisation of Nigeria is set to commence operations in Delta State to bring the fruits of standardisation and quality assurance to bear on industry and commerce in the state.
Speaking while taking possession of the SON office accommodation provided by the Delta State Government in Asaba, Mr. Aboloma expressed appreciation to the government and people of the State.
He promised that technical and support staff will be deployed to ensure that the office commence operations in June with focus on the ease of doing business through mandatory certification of all Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
Mr. Aboloma enjoined all manufacturers, processors, artisans and other Stakeholders in Delta State to take optimum advantage of the SON presence to assure the quality of their outputs and enhance their  competitiveness.
According to him, the Delta State Government has demonstrated good faith with the provision of office accommodation, stressing that SON will deploy its expertise in standardization
and quality assurance to the benefits of the people.
The Director General then called on other state Governments without SON presence to emulate the Delta State government in the overall interest of their people and the Nation.
Present at the handover ceremony were Chief Clement Ofuani, Director General, Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency; Estate Surveyor Ebitomo Preye, Director (Lands), Delta State; Barr. Andrew Odum, Executive Assistant (Legal Matters) to the Governor and Estate Surveyor Opia Peter Ikoko, Principal Lands Officer.
The office is located at Plot 97,  Block 2 and 4, G. R. A. Phase 3, High Court Road, Asaba, Delta State.
