SON Certifies Babcock Bread, Table Water
Babcock University’s wheat and white bread and bottle water have received the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria.
The certificates were presented by the Coordinator of SON, Ogun State, AlewuAchema, to the Group Managing Director of Babcock Investment Group, Prof. Yetunde Makinde.
Achema, who said the university worked very hard for the certificates, warned that SON would not hesitate to withdraw them should the firm compromise standards in future.
He urged the management of Babcock University to always use the SON logo on its products that had been certified.
“I know you will not allow the parameters for which the certificates were given to fall,” a statement quoted him as saying.
Achema also thanked officials of Babcock Investment Group for their cooperation during the period of screening and testing of the products.
The statement also quoted the Group Managing Director, BIG, Prof. Yetunde Makinde, as saying that the recognition from SON was ‘a dream come true’ after long years of hard work.
She assured SON that BIG would not rest on its oars in ensuring that the products would win more accolades in the area of quality.
She also said that the management would continue to sustain the quality even as plans to export the products outside the country were fine-tuned.
