NIGERIA DEVELOPS WORKING DRAFT STANDARDS ON ELEVEN (11) MEDICINAL PLANTS

The National Mirror Committee on African traditional medicine (NMC/ATM) held a two–day meeting at the Paxherbal clinic & monastery, EWU-ESAN, Edo state. The meeting which held from 30^th November to 1^st December, 2017 was to conclude the development of draft standards on eleven (11) medicinal plants to be submitted to the ARSO secretariat for deliberation and review by member African countries.

Thirty–One (31) members attended the meeting which was chaired by Prof. Maurice Iwu.  Also present was Mr. Dauda Yakubu, Head of International Standards, who represented the director general of standards organisation of Nigeria (SON) and Head of Standards Directorate, Barr. Osita Aboloma and Mrs. Chinyere Egwuonwu respectively. Other committee members (representing various stakeholders)
