Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria, Abuja Chapter paid a consultative visit to the Standards Organisation of Nigeria Public Relations Team

The CICAN team was received in audience by the Special Assistant to the Director General and Head of Public Relations, Mr. Bola Fashina and Mrs. maryam Samson.

Issues discussed centered on improved synergy between CICAN Abuja members and the SON with a view to better informing and educating the Nigerian populace on the activities of SON, its relevance to society, promoting standardisation towards improving the quality of life and general issues of value addition to local industries and consumer protection.

The CICAN requested that SON assists in developing the capacity of its members in order to report standardisation and quality assurance issues better and be in position to do informed analysis on the commerce and industry sector.

Responding, Mr. Bola Fashina acknowledged the support SON has been receiving from the CICAN members over the years and promised to work hard to improve on the existing collaboration in the interest of the Nation.

According to him, issues of standardisation and quality assurance concern all and  sundry, thus everyone should endeavour to be a vanguard of quality in Nigeria.
